Brenda Starr’s Gourmet Goodies

Brenda Jessup is an incredible baker and someone that has perfected the bundt cake. In 1995, she formally began baking her cakes and since that time, thousands of folks have raved about her baked goods.
Each of Brenda’s cakes are baked from scratch and use only the finest ingredients. Everything is fresh, hand chopped and never commercially produced. My all time favorite is the “Orange Starr Chip”. It is a pound cake that is baked in a bundt, full of chocolate chips, and then soaked in an orange ‘bath’. Moist, rich, gooey (in texture) and sinfully delicious.
This is the perfect gift for the person who has everything, business associate, and just about anyone else. I love giving this gift as the recipient always enjoys every bite!
Oh, in addition to the Orange Starr Chip, Brenda bakes about a dozen others… and I have sampled all of them… and they are great too! If you really want a treat, ask Brenda if you can try the cake batter!

Ben;
Are these the ones your parents used to sell at the B-Hive?
Yes! I met Brenda in the early 1990’s in Palm Beach. When I got to know her, she told me of her desire to start a cake business. It was hard for me to believe that Brenda could bake… until she gave me a sample. The cakes are awesome and I nearly ate myself to death when she was having me try each one. When Brenda launched her business, I told my parents they needed to sell them… and after tasting a couple of flavors, they agreed!
I love cake batter and at times Brenda has saved me a bowl or two. Despite having raw eggs, I decided to tempt fate and eat it anyway… and it was finger lickin’ good!
You are bringing back memories! I’m heading straight for her web site!!! These cakes are heavenly! When we lived in Immokalee Bruce would go to B-Hive to buy a bouquet of flowers and a Starr cake for me for any special occassion. To tell the truth, whenever your mom called to say she had some of Brenda’s cakes in the cooler I would buy one (or two) whether it was a special occasion or not!
