Cooking Tip… The Magic Spoon

My very favorite, most used cooking utensil is THE MAGIC SPOON! No more lumps in anything. Everything comes out lump-free. Sauces, puddings, gravy, all smooth. I even use it to stir through sugar, flour, cocoa to remove lumps.

I just love the site and I plan on having my husband use the recipes that I have found listed. I will have him also share some of his cooking secrets and recipes. I feel like I now know all of Bernedettes children and I am certain she and Ben are very proud of them. I realized that she used a ( B ) theme in choosing her names for her beautiful family.

God Bless you all,

Jenna

Hi Mrs. Bates — thank you for your kind words. Although I have no idea who you are, I am guessing you must be a friend of my parents.

And yes, my parents did give each of us a “B” name, even our animals. Plus, our swimming pool was in the shape of the letter “B”!

My parents are very theme oriented!

BERNADETTE STARLING:

I think this is one item I need to have in my kitchen utensils, I am like a kid in a candy store when it comes to kitchen gadgets. Thanks for sharing.

on another note: I had a Sunday School meeting at my home one night and I was in charge of the program. When guest arrived I asked them each to select a kitchen utensil and hold on to it for later. After the lesson I asked each person to analyze their item and tell how it related to our lives in relation to our Christian Walk. All were really great but these were just a few and the idead has always made for a great program! The old fashioned potato masher represented the hills and valleys we all go thru, the knife cuts like harsh words cut the heart, the strainer shows how we should let the bad flow out and keep the good. Now you get the idea and it was just great!
Try it for a group of friends….it’s just the little things in life that we take for granted and I never see a potato masher that I don’t think of the hills and valleys of life.

This definitely looks to be very useful!

I don’t get it? Why not use a regular wire whisk for a smooth sauce? I’m all for cool new useful equipment, but I don’t see the advantages over a good quality, wooden handled wire whisk. Maybe you can show me what I am not seeing that’s an improvement.
BTW, love your description of your blog. Nothing wrong with keeping tabs on what you intake into your body but food, to me, doesn’t just feed your body, it also feeds your soul. And that’s something that scientists and nutritionist haven’t learned to measure.
Keep up the good work.
Jim

Not being known as a cook, I always wondered what this was used for. Now I know. I may even add it to my collection of rarely used utensils. My once a year turkey and gravy will welcome this new item.
