Oooh whee! Chunky wedges of tender fresh apple, embedded in a delicious cinnamon-vanilla scented cake. Then enrobed with caramel, loaded with toasted walnuts, then lightly showered with a coarse-flake sea salt finish, which peaks the flavor of both the walnuts and caramel.

The World’s Largest Menu Burger… The Spartan, a 254lb monster burger at the Clinton Station Diner in Clinton, New Jersey.
Two (2) 44lb buns
Two (2) beef patties — one 65lbs, the other, 68lbs
40lbs (980 slices) of cheese
10lbs of ketchup; mustard, tomatoes, lettuce and onion.
Five (5) teams of three (3) eaters each gathered to attack the burger. Amongst them, an elite team of American eaters from the Association of Independent Competitive Eaters (AICE), including Ian Hickman, Elizabeth Canady, and Pete Maurizo. It was a Team USA vs. Team Japan rematch from (AICE’s) trip to Japan in December 2007.

If you like the Girl Scout Cookies Samoas (also known as Caramel De-lites), I’m quite certain you will like these! I found the recipe on the excellent website “Baking Bites”, and posted by a wonderful baker named Nicole. Thank you Nicole, for cracking the code for these delicious cookies.

Some marketing genius at 7-Eleven should be given a raise for this idea… your cup of coffee now makes a political statement!
Beginning today, every 7-Eleven will offer you a “7-Election cup” supporting presidential candidates John McCain or Barack Obama. Results are to be tabulated weekly and reported in USA Today.
My question for 7-Eleven… what cup do I select if I want neither candidate?
Well, I have discovered something new… or at least new for those of us in Florida… SONIC!
Yes, I am now a fan of Sonic for one reason and one reason only – tater tots! When these nuggets from heaven (or perhaps Idaho) are piping hot and salty, they will burn your mouth and make you smile at the same time. They are terrific.

Spellings errors, bad grammar, flopped layers, brightly colored icing… have you ever wondered what happens when brilliant cake ideas go bad?
CakeWrecks.com has some interesting cakes, some scary cakes, and some downright disturbing cakes… and each of them will make you laugh, or cringe!
My good friend, Jan Norris, introduced me to this website. This site is great comic relief for a long Monday!
Try this on for size: the Luther [Vandross] Burger. It consists of one pound of ground beef, fried egg, cheese, and five strips of bacon.
Sounds over the top?
Replace the buns with Krispy Kreme donuts and you’ve got yourself a Luther burger. And a shortened life span!
In my opinion, there is nothing better than Dairy Queen’s famous Peanut Buster Parfait!

My sister, Brundi, brought this baker to my attention one evening a while back… Shelby Lynn’s Cake Shoppe owner, Jennifer Matsubara, was competing in a Food Network show and she insisted I watch.
Brundi is a customer at Shelby Lynn’s in Springdale, Arkansas. She tells me that Jennifer’s cakes are the best that she has ever eaten. It is rare that you find beauty and taste in these gourmet creations.
The petit fours at Shelby Lynn’s are awesome. I tried one when Brundi visited several months ago. Believe it or not, Brundi carried a box of these goodies on two flights and held the box the entire journey. Only a true foodie would do something like this!
Check Jennifer’s website… you will want to fly to Arkansas for a cake! Tell Jennifer that Brundi sent you!
